New Creek & Wal Mart Team Up For Safety !

On Saturday October 20th, the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Wal Mart will be hosting a first annual Safety Fair. The event is scheduled to take place in the parking lot of Wal Mart from 10am to 4pm. All local Fire/EMS departments have been invited to attend to assist with educating the public on fire prevention topics. October is widely known as fire prevention month.
As of 10/12/2012 the following departments have committed to attend the event – New Creek VFD, Keyser VFD, Keyser EMS, Burlington VFD, Elk District VFD, Tri Towns VFD, and Tri Towns EMS. The Mineral County Sheriff’s Department may also be in attendance as well as the Mineral County OEM/911 center. Also tentatively scheduled, a medi-vac from Health Net Aeromedical Services, pending no emergency calls during this time ...

The members of the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department would like to apologize for the lack of updates to our website. The past few months have been very busy with calls and several projects. Our membership numbers have also dropped since
the beginning of the year. We hope to do a better job with keeping up with our site.
Would You Like To Help ???
Have you ever thought about helping others in need of emergency help? Have you
ever wanted to help out your community either in emergency care or by helping
those who provide emergency care? The New Creek Volunteer Fire Department is
currently looking for new members. Membership vacancies include; firefighters,
EMT's, Paramedics, and social status members. Training is provided for free by
the department for those interested in becoming either EMS or fire members.
Social status members are members who assist the fire department with
fundraising activities and other non-emergency functions.
Membership meetings are held every 1st and 3rd (and 5th when possible)
Wednesdays of every month. Fire trainings are held every 2nd Wednesday while
the EMS trainings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month. If you are
interested in becoming a member of Mineral county's busiest Fire/EMS
combination station, please stop by the fire station or see any member for an
application. Our fire station is located between Midway Lane and Rockland Farm
Road on Rt 972.

New Creek Letter Drive Underway !

The 2013 annual New Creek VFD letter drive has been sent out. Unfortunately some of the letters have been sent to the wrong areas. Only residents within New Creek’s first due responding area should have received the letters. The mix up has occurred at the Post Office level. Each year, the department creates an updated letter which is placed into an envelope with the departments return address on it. Postage is paid for all letters by the department. There are no addresses printed on the envelope, due to the postal service ensuring that delivery will be made to all appropriate areas ...
